Wall
Is a project carried
out during a residence in Bogotá with
the support of Permanente project. The idea of this project starts
from the notion of wall as a symbol of the migratory phenomenon so strong and
dramatic in the countries of the north triangle of the Central American region.
As a barrier, obstacle
and protection, in countries plagued by increasing violence, which causes about
half of its population to see in migration a unique future option.
In Bogotá this notion
of wall changes towards other directions of reading, a city where the red brick
is so Forceful in its architecture.
We chose the bullring
downtown, which is not only an architectural emblem of the city but a space
that carries the mark of violence and blood inside Surrounding bullfights, and on the outside has a social drama, the marks
left by the drug addicts who come to the
place to scratch clay, mix with bazuco and get
high.
Both connotations expand this notion of wall, as a space, point of
arrival and departure, as a place of encounter with a political, social,
historical and aesthetic load.
