He
studied Graphic Arts in El Salvador and the Mexican Fine Art Center Museum,
Chicago, USA and the School of Visual Arts La Esmeralda , Mexico.
He
got the first place in the Biennial of Art Paiz in El Salvador 2007 an
Honorable Mention in the contemporary art competition, Palma de Mallorca, Spain
2004 and first prize at the Central American Isthmus Biennale of Contemporary
Art 1998. He participated in the Biennale de Valencia - São Paulo 2008; the
Tenth Havana Biennial 2009; the first Pontevedra Biennale in 2010 and the 54th
Venice Biennale 2011, among others.
At
this moment he has realized more than 50 solo shows and he has
participated in more than 250 collective shows in different countries. His work
is in some collections like: Reyna Sofía museum in Madrid, Mola in L.A, MADC
in C.R. BID in Washington, MARTE in San Salvador, SOLO Collection in
Madrid, among others.
Currently
he is very interested in issues related to human movement, the phenomenon of
migration and hybrid cultures, also he is interested in the values and
traditions mixed between people of different regions.
Lives
and works in San Salvador, El Salvador.
